Use an application connector to discover structured data, sync selected fields, and build a dashboard from the resulting catalog sources.

Steps

  1. Open App Connect.
  2. Create a provider connection.
  3. Run discovery.
  4. Review discovered tables, fields, and relationships.
  5. Select the fields required for the dashboard.
  6. Configure names, types, keys, and relationship behavior.
  7. Run a sync and monitor the job.
  8. Open a dashboard.
  9. Add widgets from the synced sources.
  10. Save the dashboard and review filters.

Common mistakes

Do not sync every discovered field on the first pass. Start with the fields required by the business question.

Do not ignore relationships. Linked records often explain how dashboards should group or filter data.

After the first dashboard works, add only one improvement at a time. For example, add a relationship, validate the widget, then add the next relationship. This makes bad mappings easier to find.
